6 Greenest Models of Used Cars in Melbourne

For hundreds of thousands of Melbournites, there is simply no reasonable transport alternative to the car. Train stations have limited, insecure and usually very full car parks. Depending on where you live and work, the bus-train-tram dance can get not only time-consuming, but also expensive. 1. Toyota Prius 1.5L hatch
Priusees have started to become available as used cars in Melbourne only recently – prior to 2009 or so, only new models were available, and there were some lengthy waiting lists for those! With 4.4L/km fuel consumption, the economics of buying these used vehicles in a car city work out very favourably … plus you can feel good about it. Performance is actually quite good, and the hybrid drive system has been refined since the first generation over a decade ago.
2. Honda Civic Hybrid

5. Smart Fortwo 0.7L Auto
These tiny cars look strange now, but are certainly the way of the future. Their standard combustion engine runs on Premium ULP, and gets a neat 4.8L per 100km. It does feel a little more like a scooter or bike, with more ride noise than most of us are used to, but is amazingly easy to park and actually quite comfortable to sit in.
6. Mercedes-Benz A200 2.0L
Again, while Mercs are known more as a luxury car than a green car, the manufacturer has been putting a lot of effort into future-proofing their offering. A200 used cars in Melbourne rated well for green credentials with Choice Magazine, scoring 8.5/10 for air pollution and 7/10 for greenhouse impact. As you’d expect, they’re pricier than other used cars Melbourne in their size range, but have excellent safety and comfort features, and great interior space despite their exterior looks.

It sounds like mold to me. I’d mix a solution of soap and bleach and scrub the walls down with a short bristle brush asap. Mold can be a lot of trouble. You probably have quite a bit of moisture. You might want to do something about that.

So… you claim to be a green company. Is that so? How? What makes you so green?
If you are going green and promoting that fact to your clients, why should your clients and prospects believe you?
Part of being a green company, or a green marketer, is to practice what you preach.
Internally, have you asked yourself the following questions:
Are you printed materials run double-sided on FSC or SFI Certified paper?
Have you switched to recycled USB drives to give to clients instead of catalogs? Why not? These can be very inefficient and can be either preloaded with your marketing material – or burned on an as-needed basis.
Do you recycle? Are you recycling your old printed products, catalogs, flyers, etc.? Shredding old documents than using for packaging?
Reducing the driving of your employees? Have you enacted a car pool or car share program? Special parking places designated for flex cars, electric cars? Are you encouraging working from home one day a week?
Are your promotional products made of recycled material?
Do you have an end-of-life strategy for your “durable goods”–computers, equipment, vehicles, printers, etc.?
Do you work with vendors that have certification to their green claims?
Does your break room still have disposable cups, silverware and plates? Are you composting food scraps?
Have you changed your lighting to CFL light bulbs?
What are you doing to reduce energy consumption?
Are you getting third party certification or verification for your green claims?
Are all your products non-toxic? Do they contain ”persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) chemicals? (These would include BPA, mercury, phthalates, cadmium.) If so, why?
Are you reducing you own packaging to minimize its impact on the environment?
Are your corporate logo shirts made from recycled or renewable material, such as recycled or organic cotton, PET (soda bottles), hemp or bamboo?
Are you actively seeking out vendors that also adhere to strict green guidelines? The weakest link in your chain may be your favorite or largest vendor.
